  • Feeding Guide for Dogs and Cats

Whether you're feeding RAWR as a complete meal, using it as a topper, or giving our treats as a reward — here's everything you need to know.
RAWR is shelf-stable. It lives in your cupboard — no fridge, no freezer needed. Freeze-drying gently removes moisture at sub-zero temperatures, preserving 97% of nutrients. The result is lightweight food that rehydrates in minutes or can be fed completely dry. No defrosting. No planning ahead.

How to feed RAWR

  • Complete meal

Feed as your pet's sole diet. Every recipe is 100% complete and balanced, formulated by board-certified veterinary nutritionists. Serve dry or add warm water for a softer texture.

  • Meal topper

Add RAWR on top of your pet's current food to boost nutrition and flavour. A simple way to upgrade any meal. Reduce existing portions accordingly.

  • Treat

Our 100% Chicken Breast Treats are single-ingredient, freeze-dried rewards. Perfect for training or just because. Feed straight from the bag.

  • Treat as topper

Crumble treats over any meal for an instant protein and flavour boost. The most nutritious way to spoil them.

Water is optional. RAWR can be served completely dry — many pets love the crunch. To rehydrate, add 2x warm water (e.g. 50g food + 100ml water), wait 3 minutes, mix and serve. Rehydrating brings out the aroma and creates a texture closer to fresh raw. It also adds hydration — especially beneficial for cats, who have a naturally low thirst drive.

How much to feed your dog

The right amount depends on your dog's weight, age, activity level, and body condition. Use the guide below as a starting point, then adjust. These are daily amounts — split across two meals.

Dog size Weight Daily amount
Toy 1–5 kg 30–90g
Small 6–10 kg 100–150g
Medium 11–25 kg 150–300g
Large 26–35 kg 310–385g

Is it the right amount? You should be able to feel your dog's ribs without pressing hard and see a visible waist from above. Active dogs may need more. Less active or older dogs may need less. Your vet can help assess body condition.

Amounts vary slightly by recipe. See each product page for specific guidance.

How much to feed your cat

Cats often prefer to graze. Split the daily amount across two or more smaller meals.

Adult Cats
Weight Daily amount
2–4 kg 30–50g
4–6 kg 50–60g
6–8 kg 60–75g
8–10 kg 75–85g
Kittens (from 4 months)
Weight 4–6 months 6–12 months
1–2 kg 60–70g -
2–3 kg 70–90g -
3–4 kg - 45–55g
4–5 kg - 55–65g

Hydration tip: We recommend rehydrating for cats whenever possible. Their naturally low thirst drive means moisture-rich food supports urinary tract health.

Not suitable for weaning kittens. Feed kittens 3–4 smaller meals per day. See product pages for recipe-specific guidance.

Norwegian Salmon Oil

Our Norwegian Salmon Oil is a complementary omega-3 supplement. Pump directly over dry or wet food. 1 pump = 1ml.

Dog size Weight Daily pumps
Toy up to 5 kg 2 pumps
Small 5–10 kg 4 pumps
Medium 10–25 kg 10 pumps
Large 25 kg+ 16 pumps

Cats: 1 pump daily for most cats. Cats over 5 kg may use 2 pumps.

Switching to RAWR

Transition gradually over 7–10 days to avoid digestive upset:

Day RAWR Current food
Days 1–3 25% 75%
Days 4–6 50% 50%
Days 7–9 75% 25%
Day 10+ 100% -

Already feeding raw? Most pets on raw diets transition immediately — the nutritional profile is very similar.

Temporary changes in stool consistency are normal during transition. This usually resolves within a few days.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place — your kitchen cupboard is perfect. No fridge or freezer needed. Reseal after each use. Once rehydrated, serve promptly.
